This is Zen

Talk 'em down, show you care.
Draw the line, wide-eyed stare.
Low line kick, line of sight.
Light em up, first to strike.
Tie 'em up, take 'em down.
Trap the arm, control the crown.
If they push, then you pull.
Break their balance, time to roll.
Slam 'em down, get the pin.
The one on top gets the win.
Take your time. Save your breath.
One wrong move could mean your death.
You wear 'em out and make it suck!
Have a plan, there is no luck!
The one prepared gets the chance to stand again and get to dance with the ones they love and the ones they hate. You can't fight much if you've sealed your fate.
Live today to fight again. Love tomorrow; this is Zen.

Competition!

Having traveled back from our long trip two back to back tournaments from AZ-CA, many lessons come to mind. Super tired and sore from this one I limp with wisdom and compassion. Putting your all into something can be hard, especially when you are battling yourself. Only when you remove the self can you detach from battling with others and rise above it. Understanding where people are coming from or reading in between the lines is a dying art. It requires constant forgiveness for oneself and others in order for respect to become present. I have so much respect for my competition now that it can be hard to feel worthy of competing with them and that is why we must. To win over the self that says it can't is to be true to one's real self. The one that lives and succeeds.

“We are what we repeatedly do. Greatness then, is not an act, but a habit” -Aristotle

      To run a marathon or accomplish any great feat that requires endurance you must train for it from beginning to end without deviating from the outcome. If you deviate, you lose and muddy your chance at success. This I've learned through failure. If you have an alternate motive, you split your energy for accomplishment and that's ok too. :) "We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience." Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
 Forgive yourself, for in order to achieve anything takes recognizing that there is an absence of it, a void to fill. Rest, recover and resume with newfound wisdom. You are now a better version of yourself than you were yesterday as long as you learned from it and apply the lesson to future endeavors. Realization is very close to enlightenment.

Having seen some amazing competitors out there I realize many little adjustments that can be made in order to have massive success. I always learn from my competition and for that I'm very grateful. They help to make me become a better version of myself.
For it is a path of human suffering until you learn and realize the truth. Live in your own joy of realization and you become enlightened in many ways with a fresh new outlook on life.

Kamikaze News

It’s an exciting New Year!  The Sensei anticipate that we will have a plenty of excellent training and fun events to come. We will be organizing some new planning committees as well as a competition club and hopefully adding some new classes. We are looking forward to working with everyone and helping each student achieve their goals! ~Sensei

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SETTING GOALS
This is the time of year that people look at their goals for the coming year. Usually we apply these goals to health, school, work, home etc. With the great intention of Improving ourselves and our world.  There is an old saying, “ The road to despair is paved with good intentions” Our New Years Resolutions are usually derailed by self doubt and the simple act of giving up on our intentions and dreams.
Believing in negative thoughts is the single greatest obstruction to success.
Dare to dream! If you did not have the capability to make your wildest wishes come true, your mind would not have the capacity to conjure such ideas in the first place. There is no limitation on what you can potentially achieve, except for the limitation you choose to impose on your own imagination. What you believe to be possible will always come to pass - to the extent that you deem it possible. It really is as simple as that.
 Yavapai College Classes Begin January 20th!
WE HAVE HAD A HARD TIME GETTING BOTH CAMPUS’ TO RUN THE YAVAPAI COLLEGE CLASS. THIS IS DUE TO A NUMBER OF FACTORS. SO WE ARE ASKING FOR YOUR HELP! IF EVERY DOJO FAMILY COULD POST FLYERS IN BUSINESS’ RE-POST OUR FACEBOOK POST ON YOUR PAGE AND SPREAD THE INFORMATION BY WORD OF MOUTH THAT WOULD BE AWESOME. SOCIAL MEDIA AND WORD OF MOUTH ARE OUR GREATEST INFORMATION OUTLETS. IF YOU HAVE A BUSINESS WITH FOOT TRAFFIC THAT WOULD ALLOW US TO POST A STACK OF FLYERS ON THE COUNTER OR EVEN A SINGLE FLYER IN A WINDOW THAT WOULD BE AWESOME! WE HAVE POSTED THE CLASSES ON THE FACEBOOK PAGE AND IF YOU WOULD SHARE IT TO YOUR PAGE THAT WOULD HELP US GET THE WORD OUT. WE DO HAVE A DEADLINE TO FILL THE CLASSES –OTHERWISE THEY ARE CANCELLED. WE ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED TO POST THE COLLEGE CLASS IN THE HIGH SCHOOL OR GRADE SCHOOLS PER HUSD. THE COLLEGE DOES LIMITED ADVERTISING AND INSTRUCTORS ARE RESPONSIBLE TO FILL THEIR CLASSES THEMSELVES. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!
